The most common question we get is, "Are you a couple?" Well..... the answer is Yes. We took our Civil Partnership vows on October 14th... many moons ago!

The next question we are faced with is then, "How did you meet?" Well....behind the slap it’s a completely different story.

Steve aka Miss Whiplash and Mark aka Bobbie Dazzler met, rather surprisingly through Gaydar – and with most things in their varied life it involved their alter ego’s.

It was Steve that commented that it was Whippy and Bobbie (that’s what he calls the girls) that were causing havoc in one of the chat rooms, and they got chatting.

They chatted for a number of days online before actually deciding to meet. It wasn’t a date, but it wasn’t just drinks, it was a trip to Ikea for a new coffee table . Steve said that he thought it was a funny meeting as he knew so much about this person but had never met them. Mark said that on first impressions Steve was a pretentious queen and they would not get on. Anyhow. Off to Ikea they went and they got on famously so much so that it turned into a marathon date which lasted from Friday right through to Sunday night and included meeting the in-laws!

The relationship grew rapidly over the next few weeks and within a matter of days (yes you heard it right) Steve had moved in with Mark, and were living as a couple. Well that was mid 2005 by December 2005 they were moving into a new house that they bought.

It wasn’t long after their 1 year anniversary that Mark asked Steve to Marry him, and plans were set to tie the knot just 5 months later. Fast forward to October and the pair had taken their vows at Salford Registry office. The pair flew out to Thailand for their honeymoon the following morning, not for the country and the experience, they said it was all about the frocks. The pair were on the hunt for sequin gowns! They enjoyed Thailand for what it was, and they came back with great memories and over 1000 holiday snaps, a few new suitcases crammed with new gowns!
